LG C5 OLED evo 65" (OLED65C5PUA, 2025) Review
LG’s C-series gets a major boost in brightness, processing, and clarity, making the 2025 C5 one of the best all-around OLED TVs available.
Picture Quality
The OLED evo panel and LG’s α10 AI Processor combine to deliver excellent contrast, improved peak brightness, and some of the cleanest HDR performance in the mid-premium range. Shadow detail is exceptionally strong, and colors maintain accuracy without oversaturation. The C5 is particularly impressive in dark-room environments where its perfect blacks create a cinematic image.
- Perfect blacks without blooming
- Higher peak brightness than the C3 and C4
- Improved HDR tone mapping and upscaling
Gaming Performance
The C5 continues LG’s lead in gaming performance, offering versatile refresh-rate support and extremely low input lag. Whether used with a PS5, Xbox Series X, or a high-end gaming PC, the C5 delivers responsive, smooth gameplay.
- 4K 120Hz on consoles; up to 144Hz on PC
- VRR, G-SYNC, and FreeSync Premium
- OLED Motion Pro improves motion clarity
Audio and Smart Features
The built-in speakers offer clear dialogue with Dolby Atmos support, though a soundbar is recommended for fuller bass and cinematic sound. webOS 24 is streamlined and faster than previous versions, supporting Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube, Apple TV, and more. Alexa Built-in and ThinQ integration round out the smart ecosystem.
Pros
- Outstanding OLED picture quality with strong contrast
- Excellent HDR performance with Dolby Vision
- Top-tier gaming features and low input lag
- Improved upscaling and motion handling
- Great design and strong ecosystem with LG soundbars
Cons
- Not as bright as top-tier QD-OLED or the LG G5
- Average audio without a soundbar
- Premium Mini-LEDs still outperform it in bright rooms
Verdict
The LG C5 OLED evo 65" strikes an outstanding balance between picture quality, gaming performance, and modern smart features. It is bright enough for most rooms, excellent for movies, and exceptional for gaming, making it one of the most complete OLED TVs you can buy in 2025. Unless you specifically need the extra brightness of the G5, the C5 is the better value for most buyers.
